Terjesen, Siri A. & Singh, Val (2007) Global Prerequisites of Politics, Pay and Pipeline for the Presence of Women Corporate Directors. In Solomon, George (Ed.) Academy of Management 2007 Annual Meeting: Doing Well By Doing Good, 3 - 8 August 2007, Philadelphia, United States.
We explore the environmental context of female representation on corporate boards, using data from 43 countries. Countries with higher female representation on boards have more women in senior management and smaller gender pay gaps. Countries with a longer tradition of women’s political representation have lower levels of female board representation.

Citation counts are sourced monthly from and citation databases.
These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.
Citations counts from theindexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
