Abstract
This paper presents a study in an effort to develop a remote visualized health monitoring system for three cable-supported bridges in Hong Kong in accordance with the existing on-structure instrumentation system. The envisaged system remotely delivers the measurement data to the user’s deck top and processes the data in a visualized form and in an on-line way. The raw data acquired from typical sensors are first transmitted, pre-processed and reorganized into a general-purpose database that can be updated dynamically. Then the data are analyzed and presented to the end user on screen and automatically processed for the monitoring purpose. The user interfaces are designed as an integrated platform that will display: (i) the bridge structural (design) property information; (ii) configuration information of sensory system distribution; (iii) sensor
specification information; (iv) real-time and animating display of the time-domain and frequency-domain information of the response and loading data from the remote acquisition system; and (v) on-line anomaly signaling and damage alarming of the three bridges.

Citation countsare sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science citation databases.
These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science generally from 1980 onwards.
