Abstract

Poughite Fe23+SO4(TeO3)2.3H2O, a multi anion mineral containing both tellurite and sulphate unitshas been studied by Raman spectroscopy. Raman bands at 655 cm-1 is attributed to (TeO3)2- stretching bands. The intense sharp Raman band at 1026 cm-1 is assigned to the ν1 (SO4)2- symmetric stretching mode, whilst the bands at 1078, 1152 and 1187 cm-1 are assigned to the ν3 (SO4)2- antisymmetric stretching mode. The spectral region 100 to 600 cm-1 displays the bands which are attributable to the (SO4)2- and (TeO3)2- bending modes. Some evidence from very low intensity Raman bands in the 2800 to 3600 cm-1 region provides evidence of proton- tellurite anion interactions. Hydrogen bond distances have been calculated.

Citation countsare sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
