Abstract
This chapter introduces Finding a Voice and sets out the purpose of this book. It touches on our approach to poverty and thoughts about the importance of locally appropriate communication for achieving the Millennium Development Goals. It presents profiles of the 15 ICT and media initiatives that were a part of the Finding a Voice network.
