It has been noted in many research papers that on-line data acquisition system has become an important system in the condition monitoring field due to its ability to increase the efficiency of the monitoring itself. This paper investigates the online data acquisition system closely to get more understanding about it. The investigation is carried on by developing the prototype of real-time water condition monitoring system. This investigation results in the identification of the critical criteria of on-line data acquisition system. These criteria can then be used as a standard guidance to develop a standard test rig and provide increased confidence in the result generated during such testing
