Abstract

As the community approaches the year 2000, surveyors and mapping specialist have a myriad of critical dates of changes that may require resources and input. This paper provides an overview of the most important issues of the year 2000 problem as to how it may effect some surveying businesses. This paper also brings attention of the Surveying and Mapping industry to the Queensland and Commonwealth legislation concerning year 2000 information disclosure. A wider summary of other critical dates are also presented along with what some government agencies are undertaking as part of a co-ordinated response.

Impact and interest:
