Lenticular designs are useful for high negative spectacle prescriptions. This paper presents an accurate method for determining the power of the extra curve to be surfaced on the back surfaces of a negative lenticular spectacle lens in order to obtain the required edge thickness. Data required are the front surface power, back surface power, refractive index, centre thickness, full diameter and aperture diameter.
