What is separation anxiety disorder?
The story in this book is based on an anxiety disorder called separation anxiety disorder.
Most children go through a normal stage of not wanting to leave their parents or their home. However, some children continually worry unrealistically that some harm will come to their parents or that some terrible event will separate them from their caregivers.
They will often refuse to go to school or sleep by themselves. They have nightmares, don’t want to be left alone at home and become excessively distressed when away from their parents or home.

Citation counts are sourced monthly from and citation databases.
These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.
Citations counts from theindexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
