From conceptual models to constrained web forms

Dumas, M. Marlon, Aldred, Lachlan J. , & ter Hofstede, Arthur H.M. (2002) From conceptual models to constrained web forms. In Kashyap, Vipul & Shklar, Leon (Eds.) Real-world semantic web applications. IOS Press, Amsterdam, pp. 50-68.

Abstract

Constraints expressed within document definitions, data models, ontologies, and domain models, are a key constituent of the Semantic Web. Indeed, Semantic Web applications will rely on these constraints when reasoning about Web contents. This paper deals with the enforcement by Web interfaces, of constraints expressed at the conceptual level. Specifically, the paper presents an approach to mark up a conceptual model in order to generate a Web form capable of enforcing the constraints captured in the model. The feasibility and practicality of this approach have been validated through the development of a system that generates XForms code from ORM conceptual schemas.

Citation countsare sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
