Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of the development and application of surrogacy legislation in Australia. Key aspects such as conditions relating to surrogacy contracts, eligibility to enter into surrogacy arrangements, parentage orders and the legal challenges surrounding surrogacy in Australia are discussed.
