Nitrones are demonstrated to efficiently mediate radical coupling reactions on the example of the conjugation of ATRP-made polymers, yielding macromolecules with distinct functional alkoxyamine centres in mid-chain locations of the chains. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2010.
