Abstract

A Study aimed at establishing that diversity in design understanding exists amongst students undertaking civil engineering, interior design and industrial is described. It is confirmed that there is diversity in the form of three different conceptions of design; a technical conception, a conceptual conception and a philosophical conception. These conceptions are qualified and then explored in terms of their implications for education and future research
