Description

The ability to effectively collect, manage, analyse and report on data is vital for student achievement in the subject Senior Health. This session will provide an opportunity to think about how students can be switched on to evidence based inquiry rather than turned off by perceptions of data, statistical analysis, numeracy or literacy. Workshop activities will include a combination of quantitative and qualitative research concepts, hands on activities and opportunities to consider student engagement, curriculum design and pedagogical practices. A range of topics will be covered during the workshop including: 1. Data collection methods and research ethics; 2. Descriptive statistics for quantitative analysis; 3. A priori and emergent coding for qualitative analysis. Workshop participants will require a copy of the QCAA Health 2019 v1.2 General Senior Syllabus for implementation with year 11 students from 2019. Participants are also encouraged to bring any preparatory planning completed for 2019 syllabus implementation.

Search Google Scholar™

Citation counts are sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
