Description
This exhibition, 'Penumbra: Contemporary art from Taiwan' brings together 20 new media works (video, photography and installation art) by five established and emerging artists from Taiwan. Artists include: Huang Po-chih, Kuo I-chen, Tseng Yu-chin, Wang Ya-hui and Wu Diing Wuu (Walis LaBai). I was the Guest Curator ad the exhibition was commissioned by the Samstag Museum of Art (University of South Australia), for the Adelaide Festival in 2007. Part of the exhibition subsequently toured to the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne. An exhibition catalogue was published in association with the exhibition. The exhibition and catalogue received funding from Australian Government, Australia-China Council, the Adelaide Festival of the Arts, I-Mei Foods (Taiwan), the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, and the University of South Australia.
