Description

This thesis investigates the nexus between free-trade, food/nutrition security issues, diet-related Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the role of law and regulation in Small Island Developing Countries (SIDS) of the South Pacific. The principles of Availability, Accessibility, Acceptability and Quality (AAAQ) serve to identify components of an effective, normative food regulatory system which is suitable to address diet-related NCDs. The comparative analysis of the food regulatory systems in Fiji and Australia provide the backdrop for the evaluation of the existing food regulatory system in Vanuatu, supporting this thesis' argument that reform is needed based on a multi-sectoral approach to food regulation.

Citation counts are sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
