Description
The Designing with Emotion App © was developed to help understand the emotional dimensions of designing to help novice designers cope and form resilience, and has the potential to sit alongside other mechanisms in the learning environment to help develop mindful, emotionally intelligent, agile and resilient learners. The project underlined that reflective practice can be enhanced with mobile technologies and should be a skill that is consistently encouraged and emphasized in education by teaching staff. The project identifies a possible gap in teaching and learning with respect to emotion, and that a more holistic approach of embedding emotion and emotional awareness within designing contexts and teaching and learning practices is needed. This information has the potential to provide educators an understanding of how and where emotion plays out at key points within the curriculum period and the possibility to augment this data with ‘just in-time’ responsive engagement/management.
Impact and interest:
Citation counts are sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.
These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.
Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
Full-text downloads:
Full-text downloads displays the total number of times this work’s files (e.g., a PDF) have been downloaded from QUT ePrints as well as the number of downloads in the previous 365 days. The count includes downloads for all files if a work has more than one.
