Description
The purpose of this research was to conceptualise integrated palliative care in the Indonesian context from the perspectives of patients with cancer and their family caregivers, health care professionals and policymakers. The theoretical analytical tools draw from pragmatism, symbolic interactionism and the negotiated order perspective.The analytical outcomes point to differing philosophical positions around palliative care as shaped by traditional medicine and the broader social, political, and economic contexts, all of which constantly challenge the positioning of palliative care in the health care system.
Impact and interest:
