The influence of workforce diversity and organisational culture on innovation in very small information technology entities

Innovation is important for the survival of information technology (IT) firms. Small IT firms, also known as Very Small Entities (VSEs), may capitalise on their workforce diversity to enhance innovation. In this research, VSEs refers to small IT/service-based firms with between 15 and 25 employees. The main challenge for VSEs is that their workforce often lacks the diversity and experience to enhance innovation. The generic workforce diversity practices of large firms are often too complex for VSEs to implement due to major differences in financial situations and organisational culture.
