Numeracy Programs: Implications for the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics

(2001) Numeracy Programs: Implications for the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics. In Vale, C (Ed.) A Mathematical Odyssey. -.

Description

This presentation draws on teacher experiencies in the classroom and the practical implications of implementing a numeracy program. With the current focus on the importance of support for numeracy in the primary years, there have been increased demands placed on teachers. Together with these demands comes the question of whether numeracy programs are serving the needs of the students they are designed for, or whether they cloud over more serious issues related to effective teaching and learning of mathematics

Search Google Scholar™

Citation counts are sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
