Description

This short film outlines some of the educational themes and outcomes associated with The Global Teacher, an elective subject within the undergraduate degree program for pre-service teachers at Queensland University of Technology. The unit provides pre-service teachers with a global perspective on sociocultural issues that shape education. Learning outcomes in this unit are demonstrated through the production of 3 minute digital narratives, supported by an ongoing collaborative partnership between Queensland University of Technology and State Library Queensland. In preparing the digital narratives, pre-service teachers had the opportunity to study issues of diversity and sustainability at home and abroad, as well as the ability to interpret educational problems from a framework that is both local and global. The pre-service teachers expressed their understandings of these important contemporary issues in a creative way through their 3-minute digital narratives, which are designed to be used as resources within classrooms, ranging from Early Years through to secondary level. The culminating Global Teacher Digital Narrative Event allowed the pre-service teachers to share their understandings of global educational issues with friends, family, colleagues and community members in a public event at the QUT Library, Kelvin Grove on the 5th of May 2016. Citation counts are sourced monthly from Scopus and Web of Science® citation databases.

These databases contain citations from different subsets of available publications and different time periods and thus the citation count from each is usually different. Some works are not in either database and no count is displayed. Scopus includes citations from articles published in 1996 onwards, and Web of Science® generally from 1980 onwards.

Citations counts from the Google Scholar™ indexing service can be viewed at the linked Google Scholar™ search.
